It detects intrusion attempts, fire, water damage or emergencies and triggers defined responses – from silent alarms to active defence. Modern systems comply with the EN 50131 standard and are insurance-compliant under VdS class A, B or C (the German VdS rating used by European insurers).

Wireless or wired alarm system?
Both systems can be certified to EN 50131. What matters is construction, risk class and insurance requirements.
VdS classes A, B and C – what your insurer requires
The VdS class defines the required level of protection and depends on the value and risk profile of your property. VdS is the German certification body whose ratings are recognised across European insurance.

How much does an alarm system cost?
A wireless alarm system for a detached house typically ranges from EUR 1,500 to EUR 8,000 including installation. Commerce and industry are quoted individually. Free security analysis with a transparent fixed price.
Wireless or wired – which is better?
Wireless suits existing buildings, rentals and holiday homes. Wired is recommended for new builds, high security and VdS class C. Both achieve equivalent levels of security with the right component choice.
Which VdS class does my alarm system need?
VdS-A for private homes, VdS-B for commerce and high-value buildings, VdS-C for jewellers, vault rooms or critical infrastructure. The class your insurer requires is stated in your contract.
Is the system insurance-compliant?
Yes. Protexium installs only EN 50131-certified components and issues the full installer certificate for your insurer. Self-installation puts insurance cover at risk.
Is a 24/7 monitoring centre worth it?
In most cases, yes. The certified monitoring centre verifies alarms by image, escalates only genuine incidents and avoids false-alarm fees. For commerce it is often mandatory. Protexium works with the monitoring centre of the Fürst Group.
How long does installation take?
Wireless systems for detached houses in one day. Wired systems or commercial projects take 2–5 working days depending on scope. Commissioning including monitoring-centre connection on the same day.
